FAQ’s

  • A blood test that includes the 13 biomarkers you've listed can provide a comprehensive picture of your overall health, especially in terms of cardiovascular health, hormone balance, liver function, and nutritional status. Here's a breakdown of the key benefits of each biomarker:

    1. Lipid Profile (Total Cholesterol, LDL, Non-HDL, HDL, Total Cholesterol: HDL, Triglycerides):

    • Total Cholesterol: Measures the overall amount of cholesterol in your blood. High levels can indicate an increased risk of heart disease.

    • LDL Cholesterol (Low-Density Lipoprotein): Often referred to as "bad cholesterol," high levels of LDL can lead to plaque buildup in your arteries, increasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases like heart attacks and strokes.

    • Non-HDL Cholesterol: Includes all cholesterol particles that can contribute to plaque buildup in arteries, such as LDL, VLDL, and others. It's a broader indicator of cardiovascular risk than just LDL alone.

    • HDL Cholesterol (High-Density Lipoprotein): Known as "good cholesterol," high levels of HDL help remove cholesterol from the bloodstream, lowering the risk of heart disease.

    • Total Cholesterol: HDL Ratio: This ratio helps assess the balance between good and bad cholesterol in your blood. A higher ratio suggests a greater risk for heart disease.

    • Triglycerides: Elevated triglyceride levels can be a risk factor for heart disease and may indicate conditions like obesity, metabolic syndrome, or diabetes.

    2. Testosterone:

    • Testosterone is a key hormone for both men and women, influencing muscle mass, energy levels, libido, and mood. Low testosterone can cause fatigue, depression, reduced muscle strength, and sexual dysfunction. Measuring testosterone levels can help diagnose hormonal imbalances and guide treatment if needed.

    3. hs-CRP (High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein):

    • hs-CRP is a marker of inflammation in the body. Elevated levels may indicate chronic inflammation, which is associated with an increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, and other inflammatory conditions. It’s useful in assessing overall cardiovascular health.

    4. Ferritin:

    • Ferritin is a protein that stores iron in your body. Measuring ferritin levels helps assess your iron stores and can indicate iron deficiency (which can lead to anemia) or iron overload conditions like hemochromatosis. This test helps identify potential issues related to your red blood cells and overall energy levels.

    5. Liver Function Tests (Bilirubin, ALP, ALT, Gamma GT):

    • Bilirubin: Elevated bilirubin levels can indicate liver problems or bile duct issues.

    • ALP (Alkaline Phosphatase): High levels can be associated with liver disease, bone disorders, or bile duct obstruction.

    • ALT (Alanine Aminotransferase): An enzyme found mainly in the liver. Elevated ALT levels can signal liver damage or inflammation.

    • Gamma GT (Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase): Elevated GGT levels may indicate liver disease, bile duct problems, or alcohol abuse.

Overall, liver function tests are essential for diagnosing liver diseases, monitoring liver health, and assessing the effects of medications on the liver.

    6. Active B12:

    • Vitamin B12 is essential for nerve function, red blood cell production, and DNA synthesis. Low levels of active B12 can cause fatigue, weakness, and neurological issues. A deficiency can also contribute to anemia and increase the risk of cognitive decline. Measuring active B12 helps ensure that you have the bioavailable form of the vitamin.

    7. Vitamin D:

    • Vitamin D plays a crucial role in bone health, immune function, and inflammation regulation. Deficiency can lead to osteoporosis, weakened immunity, and increased susceptibility to infections. It’s also linked to a variety of chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders. Monitoring vitamin D ensures you have optimal levels for overall health.

    Key Benefits of the Test:

    • Cardiovascular Health: By evaluating your lipid profile, hs-CRP, and liver function, you get an in-depth view of your heart health, inflammation, and liver function, all of which are essential for preventing cardiovascular diseases.

    • Hormonal Balance: Testosterone levels provide insight into your hormone health, affecting mood, energy, and muscle mass.

    • Metabolic and Nutritional Status: Ferritin, Vitamin D, and Active B12 levels offer a look at your metabolic function and nutrition, helping to identify deficiencies or imbalances that could affect overall health.

    • Prevention and Early Detection: This test can highlight potential health issues before symptoms appear, allowing for earlier intervention and better management of conditions like heart disease, liver dysfunction, or nutritional deficiencies.

    • Personalized Health Insights: The combination of these biomarkers can help tailor specific lifestyle changes, dietary recommendations, or medical interventions to improve your well-being.

In summary, this comprehensive blood test gives you a detailed snapshot of your overall health, enabling you to proactively address potential risks and optimize your wellness.
